@jiffyclub @bendmorris It's not just lack of incentives but more that these efforts are penalized despite being recognized as important.

@jiffyclub @bendmorris sure but ipython's dev team is supported by a large grant. numpy creator was denied tenure. no incentives = hard.

@bendmorris right, that's what I mean. It's very unfortunate that a best practices paper has to be so discouraging.

@bendmorris If it does nothing to advance one's career (or offer other rewards), time spent on these = career suicide. What do you suggest?
